Beauty Care Products - Milk of Magnesia

When we think of beauty care products, Milk of Magnesia does not usually come to mind, but it should. I keep a bottle of the magnesia with my beauty products because it is the best thing to use for healthy pores that I have come across over the years. I have tried many products that claim to leave your skin flawless, but the only thing that really works is milk of magnesia. I don

Cosmetic Organizers - Help Me Please

Cosmetic Organizers - Help Me Please

Women love make-up! Raise your hand if you disagree with this. Okay, I didn’t see anyone raise there hand, so I must assume this statement is fact. I can’t name a woman who doesn’t lover her cosmetic supplies and make-up galore. This is why they all require cosmetic organizers. Yes indeed, I’m totally familiar with these. The truth is I bought one for my wife a couple years ago. But it wasn’t just any old cheap one. This organizer is sweat and rather ideal if I do say so myself. One thing is for certain; my wife uses it all the time.

I have to laugh at the three girls I share a home with. One is in her late thirties, another in her teens and the third is seven. Yes, these are quite different age groups. However, they all have oodles of stuff. Can females ever have enough stuff?

That’s my current query. What I mean is, they all need so many different things to function on a daily basis. Whether it’s various toys and make-believe beauty products, countless accessories and outfits, or shoes and cosmetics galore, they require it all. Or at least they think they do. I personally can’t imagine how any of them would live without it.

Anyway, all of them insist on quality cosmetic organizers. This is hilarious, because my seven year old totes around cheap Halloween make-up and tons of drugstore nail polish. I guess she is just getting into the swing of things for when she’s older. I hate to admit it, but they get there so fast.

So, how many ladies are in your life? If you don’t know what to get them this year for Christmas, you may want to consider fine cosmetic organizers. Try and find out if they already have one of these. If not, chances are they could use one. I searched for cosmetic organizers on the World-Wide-Web. Naturally I got tons of results, but most were not impressive. Finally I stumbled across a Bobbi Brown train case. This is one of the finest cosmetic organizers I’ve ever seen. It was a massive hit with my wife. Definitely a step up from those tacky plastic ones you’ll find in Wal-Mart. One last tip; go for quality. Your wife or daughter is worth it.

Memory Foam Mattress - Another Beauty Secret

Memory Foam Mattress - Another Beauty Secret

I have had back problems for a good while now, and although I have tried a lot of things, there has been little or no improvement. I have slept on all kinds of different mattresses, including conventional spring mattresses, pillow top mattresses, and futons.

Nothing really seemed to do anything at all to make me feel any better, and that was sure a crying shame. It is awful to wake up in the morning with back pains that are worse than when you went to bed the night before. It was an awful feeling.

All of that changed when I first tried a memory foam mattress. I had thought that memory foam mattresses were just another stupid gimmick, like those adjustable glorified air beds that they are selling for couples with different tastes in beds. But in reality, the memory foam mattress really did do a lot to make me feel more happy and comfortable, and there is no doubt about that. Since I started to use my memory foam queen mattress, I have felt a whole lot better, and a lot of my lower back pain is gone for good. It is really a happy day for me, and that is a fact.

Of course, I would not recommend a memory foam mattress to everyone, so do not go out and spend a lot of money on something which you do not know if you need. The thing about memory foam mattresses is that they have a very specific feel. They sort of compress under you, with less of a springy feel than straight out old fashioned spring mattresses.

It is more of a sense of molding around your body than anything else. Don’t get me wrong, I think that my memory foam mattress is just hunky dory, but I do also think that you would do well to try out a few different kinds of mattresses yourself before you decide. Most bed stores will let you go and try out all of the mattresses by lying on them and seeing if they are comfortable for you, which is a good idea for anyone who is thinking of buying a bed for themselves. You can try out a memory foam mattress, as well as all of the other varieties. Maybe you will like the memory foam mattress, maybe you will not, but it seems like the only way to find out.

Lipstick Color - Match Your Skin Color

Lipstick Color - Match Your Skin Color

Big, beautiful lips make every woman happy. With their tempting allure, and rich, sexy colors, the lips in magazines seem to get all the attention. Luckily, even the ordinary woman can liven up her style, and add a splash of color by choosing the proper lipstick color.

When selecting a lipstick color, it’s important to remember the relationship of lipstick to skin tone. The shade you choose should have the same color saturation as your skin. For example, an African American lady can wear deep red lipstick colors, like crimson, because it complements her skin tone. Cherry or fire engine red may not be flattering, with too much contrast. The woman with porcelain white skin would look stunning in a cherry red shade, because the color has a bright, sunny feeling, like her skin tone. However, a deep purplish-red shade would make the same woman look like an old lady. Wrinkles and dark lines are emphasized with deep lipstick shades. As long as you keep these skin tone

Lip gloss

Lip gloss

A few years back, I went on a blind date that a friend had set up for me. I was a nervous wreck and it showed. I was supposed to meet him at a nice local restaurant and spotted him as soon as I arrived. I was walked very nervously up the sloped sidewalk when I stumbled. I caught myself, but my adorable tiny purse wasn’t so lucky. It fell to the ground scattering its contents all over the sidewalk. I was mortified. The gentleman that he was, he came down to help me.

Luckily, I didn’t have anything embarrassing in my purse but I did have five tubes of lip gloss. As he handed me all five of them, he smiled. I thanked him and standing up, told him that I have a passion for lip gloss. He didn’t comment, just escorted me into the restaurant. All I wanted to do was go home. Two years later, on our wedding day, after our first kiss as a married couple, he was wearing my shiny lip gloss. I laughed and wiped it off of him with a smile.

He tells everyone that he fell for me the moment he saw all those tubes of lip gloss laying all over the sidewalk. I had not been wearing a dress or skirt that day, but he said that’s how he knew I had a subtle feminine side in me. I never quite understood what that meant but since we’re now married, I guess that passion for lip gloss turned out to be a rather good passion afterall. On any given day, you can look in my purse or my desk drawers and find at least one tube of lip gloss.

I don’t need to wait until I run out, I simply continue to stock up. Some have glitter, some have light shades of various colors and some are simply medicated. I can’t tell you when I first discovered lip gloss or why, I just know that I am never without it. I must apply it at least ten times a day.

To his credit, my husband has never commented on my addiction to purchasing lip gloss. I don’t hesitate to try a new brand or color and he tolerates it all. I guess since that’s what he claims made him fall in love with me, he can’t really discourage it. Besides, after all of the kisses we’ve shared and the amount of lip gloss he’s ended up wearing, his lips are healthier than they were before he met me.

Lipstick Color - First Impresssions Count

Lipstick Color - First Impresssions Count

There are many factors that decide whether or not a person makes a good first impression. Part of my job as a career consultant is to help people understand that they cannot undo a first impression. This is critical during job interviews as well as for people that do face to face marketing. That first impression is a lasting one, so it is important to pay attention to details. This applies to everything from the clothes that you wear to your grooming. Many of the people that I work with under estimate the importance of this. They feel that their skills and education will be the reason they are hired. This is partially true; however in a competitive job market candidates that have the right credentials as well as a professional appearance are going to have the edge.

I spend more time with women on this issue than men. Women have the added concern of applying makeup that contributes to their appearance. Everything from application of the makeup to the choice of lipstick color contributes to the impression that a woman portrays. These may seem like small and insignificant details, but I have researched this area with perspective employers and have found that it does have an impact.

I asked several human resource workers to take part in an interview panel for the employment seekers that I work with. I had them complete surveys at the end of the interviews that not only addressed the knowledge that a candidate displayed, but also the first impression that the person made. I would then have the prospects interview dressed in business attire as well as inappropriate clothing. The interview questions were the same and the candidates were the same, yet the women that did not wear appropriate clothing were always past by for the position. When I discussed this with the interviewers they realized that if a woman had on distracting attire or makeup, they were not considered as a viable candidate. The choice of lipstick color was one of the factors that was mentioned often, by both men and women interviewers.

I think that the reason for this is that the wrong lipstick color is very distracting. In an interview setting the face of the person is watched closely regarding their expressions as well as eye contact. If a woman has on a lipstick color that clash with her skin tone or clothing, it is hard to over look this. Also many women do not take the time to insure that their lipstick color is fresh and not smeared. This lack of attention to detail can be concerning to a perspective employer. The small attention to details can mean the difference to getting a job, or being passed by.
