HairSpray - The 80’s Hair Savior

I am a product of the 80s and I miss a lot of 80s culture. I miss the layers of socks, the stretch pants and the scrunchies. I miss 80s music and all of the day-glo fashion. I do not, however, miss 80s hair.

When I was in elementary school, 80s hair was all the rage. Girls spent hours and gallons of hair spray trying to get

Aveda Hair Products

The image that you are supposed to project as a man and the realities of being a man in this day and age are quite different. We are all familiar with the male stereotype. You are supposed be artless and uncaring about appearance. You are supposed to be straightforward to the point of Neanderthal-like. The reality is much different. Men have to groom every bit as carefully as women do. Personally, I have been using Aveda hair products since I was 13, and if anything I have become more concerned about my appearance over the years.

I don’t mean to advocate Aveda hair products over any other. I could just have easily settled for Paul Mitchell hair products or l’Oreal. The point that I am making is that I and judged by my appearance every bit as much as a woman is. I even use the same Aveda hair products as my sister does. That is how I learned to groom myself in the first place

Eye Shadow

I can remember what people dressed like when I was a young girl. It was the seventies, and I remember the tight t-shirts and the bell-bottoms quite well. I also remember that a lot of high school girls wore blue eye shadow and always seemed to be larger than life to me. As a child of five though, I guess I can understand this. If you look at fashion through the years, and the look of a certain decade, you may realize that it

French perfumes - Don’t Hate The French

French perfumes are among the most famous and sought after in the world today. When a man gives a woman a gift of perfume, French perfumes are the smart choice to endear himself to his beloved. What makes the French perfume so legendary?

The French are particularly adroit in the blending of essences, and this art requires people with special olfactory gifts of the nose. These rare people can discern minute variations in combinations of essences and are knowledgeable and up-to-date in modern chemistry and new discoveries. This specialized knowledge and talent is at the base of fine French perfumes.

Long a significant part of the French economy, French perfumes are distinguished by the complexity of their formulas, their sophisticated and heady fragrances a long-lasting gift of indulgence so appreciated by every woman. So desirable is this luxury product , the perfume industry has sailed through recessions with hardly a noticeable dip in sales.

With the unsurpassed flair of the French, packaging is also an important component in the overall marketing success of French perfumes. From the shape of the perfume bottle to the box holding the alluring product, no detail is overlooked. The packaging is designed to invite the potential buyer to take the next step and smell the contents. Once the nose perceives the absolute luxury and sensuality of the product, it’s irresistible.

You may be surprised to know the French perfume market is not limited to women. In just the last decade or so, French perfume manufacturers have introduced fragrances for men and children as well. Industry experts say half of Frenchmen use fragrances, accounting for a significant share of the world market. The recent development of fragrances for children is rapidly developing into a booming market.

These fragrances for children are often a lighter, more delicate version of their grown-up counterparts, such as Dior’s Tendre Poison and Givenchy’s Fleur d’interdit, much lighter renditions of their namesakes, with a lighter price as well. Even the staid Guerlain has not resisted this lucrative market. Other less well-known French fragrance makers and clothing lines have jumped on the band wagon with inexpensive, but wildly popular colognes.

When shopping the French perfume market, it’s important to remember that a fragrance will smell slightly different on each person. Many large department stores have samples free for the asking. You’ll do well to collect several that strike your fancy, to take home and sample individually. If you douse yourself with several fragrances from tester bottles at the store, the resulting collage may gather some strange looks or set off someone’s allergies in an elevator!

If you’re looking for a very special gift, celebrating Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, Mother’s Day or Christmas, you simply can’t go wrong with French perfumes!

Should you visit France, make a beeline to the airport duty-free shops’ perfume aisles, where you can save so much you’ll be able to buy three or four for the price you’d pay in the U.S.

Dark Circles Uner Eyes - How did we get here

A few months ago, I was just simply a mess. I was 12 pounds overweight, had dark circles under my eyes, seemed to be wrinkling faster and faster every day, and could barely make my words come out right. You might think from all of this description, that I was a drug addict. I wish! Drug addiction is easy to treat

Waxing Salons

Waxing Salons

There are so many options when it comes to grooming now days. How can anyone find the time to take advantage of all of them? Well, anyone other than Paris Hilton? The truth is it can be difficult to fit all of your grooming chores into your busy work-week.

This is why there are salons and spas across the nation. We need these types of businesses in order to stay on top of our appearances. It’s not like we want to get stuck doing all the dirty work on our free time. Take the ever-popular waxing salon for instance. I would be willing to bet that these establishments rake in the bucks on a daily basis. This is due to one simple fact. Body hair is no longer in style.

In fact it has been deemed taboo. Are you sporting any fuzz on your legs, back, or torso? Chances are you have it waxed off regularly. Welcome to the 21st century, folks. It demands a whole lot of grooming for men and women.

What is the best waxing salon in your neck of the woods? Do you take advantage of one of those all-in-one beauty salons or day spas? You know the ones that do hair, pedicures, manicures, facials, full body massages, and waxing. Women tend to love these places. Okay, who am I kidding? Men typically love these establishments as well. Although some may not care to admit it. I will be the first one to fully admit that I love a good massage. I could lie there for hours and let some beautiful woman rub, kneed, and smooth my aches and pains away.

It’s truly relaxation at its best. If you’ve never tried one, I suggest you give it some thought. Now, on the other hand, I truly have no need for a waxing salon. There is nothing I want waxed. I’ve always thought this particular method of hair removal hurts. My wife doesn’t agree one bit. She would love to visit a waxing salon every other week if she could. However, all the procedures she wants done can get a tad pricey.

Are you in one of those tiny towns that seem to lack a decent waxing salon? Hey, don’t fret just yet. It’s not over until you’ve checked online. Get on your laptop and do a search for a waxing salon in your area. If there is one, it will surely come up. If not, you should map out the closest waxing salon to your home. It may be well worth your time. Get rid of that body fuzz today.
