Lipstick Color - Match Your Skin Color

Lipstick Color - Match Your Skin Color

Big, beautiful lips make every woman happy. With their tempting allure, and rich, sexy colors, the lips in magazines seem to get all the attention. Luckily, even the ordinary woman can liven up her style, and add a splash of color by choosing the proper lipstick color.

When selecting a lipstick color, it’s important to remember the relationship of lipstick to skin tone. The shade you choose should have the same color saturation as your skin. For example, an African American lady can wear deep red lipstick colors, like crimson, because it complements her skin tone. Cherry or fire engine red may not be flattering, with too much contrast. The woman with porcelain white skin would look stunning in a cherry red shade, because the color has a bright, sunny feeling, like her skin tone. However, a deep purplish-red shade would make the same woman look like an old lady. Wrinkles and dark lines are emphasized with deep lipstick shades. As long as you keep these skin tone

Lip gloss

A few years back, I went on a blind date that a friend had set up for me. I was a nervous wreck and it showed. I was supposed to meet him at a nice local restaurant and spotted him as soon as I arrived. I was walked very nervously up the sloped sidewalk when I stumbled. I caught myself, but my adorable tiny purse wasn’t so lucky. It fell to the ground scattering its contents all over the sidewalk. I was mortified. The gentleman that he was, he came down to help me.

Luckily, I didn’t have anything embarrassing in my purse but I did have five tubes of lip gloss. As he handed me all five of them, he smiled. I thanked him and standing up, told him that I have a passion for lip gloss. He didn’t comment, just escorted me into the restaurant. All I wanted to do was go home. Two years later, on our wedding day, after our first kiss as a married couple, he was wearing my shiny lip gloss. I laughed and wiped it off of him with a smile.

He tells everyone that he fell for me the moment he saw all those tubes of lip gloss laying all over the sidewalk. I had not been wearing a dress or skirt that day, but he said that’s how he knew I had a subtle feminine side in me. I never quite understood what that meant but since we’re now married, I guess that passion for lip gloss turned out to be a rather good passion afterall. On any given day, you can look in my purse or my desk drawers and find at least one tube of lip gloss.

I don’t need to wait until I run out, I simply continue to stock up. Some have glitter, some have light shades of various colors and some are simply medicated. I can’t tell you when I first discovered lip gloss or why, I just know that I am never without it. I must apply it at least ten times a day.

To his credit, my husband has never commented on my addiction to purchasing lip gloss. I don’t hesitate to try a new brand or color and he tolerates it all. I guess since that’s what he claims made him fall in love with me, he can’t really discourage it. Besides, after all of the kisses we’ve shared and the amount of lip gloss he’s ended up wearing, his lips are healthier than they were before he met me.

Many women search for beauty secrets to keep themselves feeling young and looking their best. Perhaps the biggest beauty secret is that there is no one secret that works for every woman. Beauty secrets can be easily found if you talk to your mother or your grandmother. Someone in your family may have already found beauty secrets to help eliminate early wrinkles or to ward off acne for your skin type. For more common beauty secrets, search online. Take the information you find with a grain of salt, however. Some things are just plain silly, while others may only work for some women.

Lipstick Color - First Impresssions Count

Lipstick Color - First Impresssions Count

There are many factors that decide whether or not a person makes a good first impression. Part of my job as a career consultant is to help people understand that they cannot undo a first impression. This is critical during job interviews as well as for people that do face to face marketing. That first impression is a lasting one, so it is important to pay attention to details. This applies to everything from the clothes that you wear to your grooming. Many of the people that I work with under estimate the importance of this. They feel that their skills and education will be the reason they are hired. This is partially true; however in a competitive job market candidates that have the right credentials as well as a professional appearance are going to have the edge.

I spend more time with women on this issue than men. Women have the added concern of applying makeup that contributes to their appearance. Everything from application of the makeup to the choice of lipstick color contributes to the impression that a woman portrays. These may seem like small and insignificant details, but I have researched this area with perspective employers and have found that it does have an impact.

I asked several human resource workers to take part in an interview panel for the employment seekers that I work with. I had them complete surveys at the end of the interviews that not only addressed the knowledge that a candidate displayed, but also the first impression that the person made. I would then have the prospects interview dressed in business attire as well as inappropriate clothing. The interview questions were the same and the candidates were the same, yet the women that did not wear appropriate clothing were always past by for the position. When I discussed this with the interviewers they realized that if a woman had on distracting attire or makeup, they were not considered as a viable candidate. The choice of lipstick color was one of the factors that was mentioned often, by both men and women interviewers.

I think that the reason for this is that the wrong lipstick color is very distracting. In an interview setting the face of the person is watched closely regarding their expressions as well as eye contact. If a woman has on a lipstick color that clash with her skin tone or clothing, it is hard to over look this. Also many women do not take the time to insure that their lipstick color is fresh and not smeared. This lack of attention to detail can be concerning to a perspective employer. The small attention to details can mean the difference to getting a job, or being passed by.

Punk Hair Colors - Here’s How

Punk Hair Colors - Here’s How

Punk hair colors are like regular hair dye products on steroids. Instead of naturally occurring human hair colors, punk hair colors are vivid shades you’ve never seen on a newborn baby. We’re talking fire-engine red, royal purple, grass green and the like. Young people just love this new way to experiment. In a world of sameness, punk hair color makes a very bold statement indeed.

Before rushing out to buy your desired punk hair color, there are a few facts you need to know for a successful color job. Preparation is everything when you’re considering a radical change.

One way to get a handle on the look you want: using a photo, try out your proposed look on paper or create a digitized make over. This helps avoid a disaster because skin color was not taken into account.

All hair dye is absorbed through the shaft of the hair. Your hair must be clean. Don’t use conditioner before coloring, for maximum absorption.

Unless you have a natural pale blond color, you’ll need to lighten your hair by bleaching if your color choice is electric pink or dayglo green. Carefully consider the effects severe bleaching may produce. If your hair is damaged from previous bleaching or perming, further bleaching can cause hair to break or even fall out in patches. Remember too that bleaching will bring the inevitable roots a few weeks down the road. You may want to consult a hair professional before making a final decision.

If you decide to bleach, know that the pigments of the dye are mixing with the color of your hair, much like mixing paint. If your punk hair color choice is bright red, and you’ve bleached your natural hair to a pale yellow, the result may be more orange than red.

Punk hair colors come as rinses (temporary) and dyes (permanent). If your doing a punk hair color for the first time, it’s probably safest to go with a temporary dye for your initial foray. If you dislike the result, you can hasten its demise with clarifying shampoos and conditioners. Rinsing in hot water also helps.

If you’re not into bleaching, or in the case of younger kids, are forbidden by not so hip parents, there are other ways to make a very bold and classy statement. Punk hair color, applied to unbleached hair, produces a more subtle effect, but still unnatural enough to be noticed as cool.

Dark or medium brown colored natural hair dyed in a purple punk hair color results in an effect similar to henna, with individual hairs absorbing the color according to its natural shade. In other words, if you’ve got brown hair with warm highlights, your natural highlights are retained, but with a purple cast.

A few last words: follow all instructions in the kit carefully. If possible, use a stainless steel sink for the job. Punk hair color can be difficult to remove from old fiberglass tubs. Products are available to remove stains from skin. Thank goodness!

Fragrance For Men

There is just something about a man that smells divine when you walk by him. Designer Fragrance - Smelly Time Is Over

Are you the smelly guy at work? Or maybe you’re that girl that other ladies wince at when they pass you by in the cafeteria. This can always be a rather traumatic experience to say the least. No one wants to be ostracized or excluded due to their unique aroma.

Then again, what kind of unique are we talking about here? You see, you could be that fellow with the horrific body odor that makes even your house pets cringe in agony, or you could be that cheese-ball who layers on like 10 sprays of designer fragrance. The point is you don’t want to be either one. Neither smell very good, and both get on everyone’s last nerve. Fortunately there is a solution to this nasty problem. Are you ready to smell good?

What do you know about the designer fragrance? In my experience most women like to wear these, regardless of where they’re going. That’s why they make a designer fragrance for any and all occasion. Just ask the perfume lady or cologne guy in your local department store. They’ll tell you all about it. Believe me; I’ve heard the spiel about daytime and night time fragrances on several occasions. Now, when it comes to guys, I’ve surprisingly noticed that many men don’t care to wear a designer fragrance. Do you think it’s because they’re cheap, or they simply think it’s girly to slap on a nice scent?

From what I gather it’s a little of both. Regardless of men’s hang-ups when it comes to designer fragrances, one thing remains the same. Women like them. Yes, that’s what I said. Women like it when men where a pleasant smelling designer fragrance. What did all you guys think; they wanted to smell your natural odor? Get real! Women shouldn’t have to be the only ones trying to smell nice. Anyway, when you go out to purchase a designer fragrance, it’s always wise to do some serious smelling first.

Find that absolute perfect scent that you feel comfortable with. Or better yet, take your girlfriend or wife along to help you choose. They will tell you exactly which designer fragrance they prefer on you.

What particular designer fragrance are you wearing right now? I’m a Cool Water or Gio kind of guy, myself. Regardless of what designer fragrance you prefer to mist on, the key is to not go overboard. It’s highly unlikely that you’ll need more than one or two shots of this powerful fragrance. Sure, you want to smell nice, but you don’t want to just plain SMELL.
